How to connect Shopify to Framer with Frameship
Create the connection between Shopify & Framer to sync your store’s information
To connect Shopify & Framer, you will need to install the Shopify Headless App.
Installing the Shopify Headless App
Once you begin the onboarding in the Frameship plugin, you will see the option to either connect an existing store, new store or our demo store (to test things out).
If you have a Shopify store set up, select ‘existing store’ and you will be prompted to install the Shopify Headless App.
Click on this button to be taken to the Shopify app marketplace.
Select ‘Install’. This will install the app into your store.
Creating your Storefront API
Once this app is installed, you will see the app on your Shopify sidebar (’Headless’).
Select the app, then select ‘Create Storefront’. Fill out any necessary information such as the name for the connection.
Under Manage API access, you will see ‘Storefront API’. Select the ‘Manage’ button.
Scroll down to ‘Storefront API permissions’ and select the pencil icon to edit.
Most permissions are pre-selected by default, however also ensure the following is checked:
unauthenticated_read_product_inventory
unauthenticated_read_selling_plans
Save the changes.
Connecting to Framer
Copy the Public Access token.
Go back to Framer and paste that in the input field in the Frameship plugin.
Copy the Shopify store URL and also paste that into the Frameship plugin (this will end in myshopify.com).
Select ‘Connect’ in the plugin to connect your store.
💡 Important: Your Shopify store URL must end in the myshopify.com URL. If you have a custom domain in Shopify, you need to ensure that the myshopify.com URL is the main domain, while your custom Shopify one is a subdomain.
