License Activation

Mapframe requires a license to work on your live, published site. This guide covers buying and activating one.

1. Buy a license

Open the Mapframe plugin in Framer and buy a license from there.

2. Activate the license

In the plugin, activate the license for the project you're working on. This connects the license to that specific Framer project.

3. Republish your site

This is the step people forget: after activating, you must republish your Framer project. Activating the license alone isn't enough - the license code only gets sent to your live site the next time you publish.

The plugin shows a reminder banner until you do this:

Publish your Framer site to finish activating this license.

What happens if you forget to republish

If you activate a license but don't republish, visitors to your live site will see an "activate license" / update banner on the map. This banner:

• Does show up on your published, live site.

• Does not show up in the Framer editor.

• Does not show up in Framer Preview.

So if the map looks fine while you're editing or previewing, that doesn't mean it's fine on the live site - always republish after activating a license to be sure.
